POSITION:                         Part-Time Staff Nurse

                                            10-month position – 25 hours per week

LOCATION:                         Elementary/Secondary Schools

QUALIFICATIONS:             Current RN/LPN License required
                                          CPR and AED Certification required
                                          Ability to work with adults as well as children
                                          Basic clerical and computer skills
                                          Knowledge of screening techniques
                                          Ability to assess emergency situations (Triage)

GOAL:                                 Assist the building principal and school nurse with the medical needs of the school population

RESPONSIBILITIES:         Provide assistance and/or first aid to ill and injured students according to Standing Orders
                                         Administer medications according to district policy
                                         Monitor student health records; record screenings, update immunization records.

                                         Assist with student screenings (height, weight, vision, hearing)
                                         Assist with parental communications
                                         Keep the Certified School Nurse informed of all situations

REPORTS TO:                    Building Principal/Certified School Nurse/ Nursing Coordinator/Director of Pupil Services

SALARY:                           $22.02/hour

EFFECTIVE:                       2021-2022 School Year
